Wow, my vacation is really over! The stupid thing is, I'm retired, I'm just still working to help them out...................people still wanted to be paid. At least I'm only working 3 days out of every two weeks, the rest of the time is spent puttering around with my animals.

Welcome, Deb. I would love to be in that spot after I retire. That sounds like an ideal situation. Just enough work to keep a little income and not enough to really interfere with all the fun stuff, not to mention you still have contact with the "real" world.

Yes. Very fluffy. Now are the ones with the lighter spot pullets or roos? (I won't hold you to it.)

2 chicks hatched from reesepoultry the rest didnt make after lockdown...

I have chicks hatched from Sebrightmom's eggs.

Only 3 of the 6 made it all the way, tho. I was able to get to the 3rd one in time. It should be fine. No bleeding or anything. For some reason the majority of chicks in my last couple hatches are not turning into position. They're pipping very low down and drowning. I have tried everything I can think of. Anyway, I am proud to have the ones hatch that made it. I also had 3 other silkies from Mary Robbins hatch.
The two from Sebrightmom are partridge/blue partridge 1 at the top of pic, the other to the right of that one. The third is still in the bator. It's very dark, but may lighten up after drying, can't tell yet.

The 2nd chick at top is from Mary Robbins, buff I think. The other two at bottom of pic are from her too. One black or blue. The other was marked buff, but has darker feathers on back than my last buff. He was uniformly colored all over, even at one day old.



That little dark one has a very vaulted skull. I think I had 2 or 3 from the last batch with high vaulted skulls, too. They are very striking.

All in all, I am happy. Slowly but surely I'm building myself a flock of silkies!!!!
