I'm sorry if people thought my comment was rude, but I don't take it back.  I think it's rude for someone to blatantly ignore the rules while everyone else has to follow them. There IS a grace period, it's called don't swap until you can comply with the rules. Seems pretty straightforward to me, and there are plenty of people on the swap who have already provide the information, no problem.
I think your comment were right on point. You were simply pointing out that an offer wasn't within the established rules. The rules are there for a reason. It is to protect everyone on this thread.

A Step in the right direction. I popped over Meyers website and they have Bantam Blue ameraucanas pictured for 20.00 a pullet. The roo has large wattles and no beard and green legs. Eggs pictures are blue greenish and the descrpition states greenish or blue legs. Still better then having people think they are gett ameraucana when they are not.

Please, let's not get the swap thread shut down again. As has been stated the rules are there for a reason. All I can suggest is don't swap until you can comply with them. It may take others longer due to having so many birds. I would rather have the rules and have some ounce of protection.

Swap on and Happy Friday everyone!

Thanks.

On a sad note, my little Cochin with the webbed toes died today

I actually had separated the toes successfully and put little shoes on him to prevent them from healing back together, but the chick was also spraddle legged (I think due to the toes), and just never was able to push up on its legs. I had been giving it sav-a-chick and helping it drink, but the poor thing just gave up...so disappointing.

On a happy note, I hatched what I hope will be my first blue BLRW!! Thank you DMRippy!!!

It's going to be hard to change people's mind set though. you look at CL and everyone has "Americanas" with pictures of Easter Eggers. Can't tell them different though. They truly believe what they have are Ameraucanas because that is how they ordered it.

Thanks.

Ah, I'm so sorry to hear that. Truly stinks when you loose one of them.

Is a step in the right direction. I will say the description stated very little difference between them and the Easter egger. I can't tell you how many times I thought about writing and telling them they are just giving the wrong information... I just didn't want to be THAT person.
There is a farm locally that sells started pullets as a business, and they advertise their hatchery Easter eggers as true ameruacanas. When I first got into chickens I was given a real black Ameruacana, so I went to the farm to buy a friend for her. I didn't quite userstand the difference like I do now, so I bought an Easter egger. I really can't complain, since she lays almost everyday and her eggs are large and beautiful. She, and my other mutt hen (believed to be a Cochin/Sumatra cross) are the only ones laying right now. I bought the other cross from a breeder who claimed it was a Cochin chick. I am just glad I did the research so I didn't breed her and sell the chicks as true ameruacanas
This is she:

So sorry about the little cochin... sometimes it just isn't possible to save them.

My flock has not yet started to lay so I haven't been permitted to offer eggs from them for Spring, but I got some photos of them taken this afternoon and will get them posted asap, for the future. They aren't great photos though. It's hard to get good pics of moving targets!! I hope that I haven't broken any rules.. aside from the one where I sent pp too soon, that is.
