Hatching for Valentine's Day???

This hatching stuff is either so exciting or so frustrating!

I do know I am definitely getting rid of this LG still air soon. Turner or not, it just doesn't hatch well.

Well so far I have 6/7 dry fluffy chicks and they weren't even due until today...
I'm leaving that last egg in there for now since I might have put it in a day or two later. This is the problem when you have eggs from your own backyard.

Sunangel - I hear what you are saying about the LG stillair. I use a hova forced to incubate but was given a LG that I use for a hatcher. The temp will hold fine for a day or two but then all of a sudden spike or drop.

Day 20 here! WAITING! WATCHING!! Nothing yet. Temps and humidity holding steady and good!

My first two hatches, the temp stayed the same, but with this hatch, it keeps fluctuating from 98-101. Was kind of hoping that was just the thermometer acting funky, and that it wouldn't affect the hatch.

Ive got a pip! One other Ive seen rockin and rollin. The one rocking last nite havent seen it move yet this am. Day 20 here. This will be the first time in the hovabator for the hatch. I ve always moved them to the LG still air for hatching. Its hard to hear them over the fan.

I'm sorry if that's true, you had all your hopes on that one egg, and hatching is never a guaranteed thing, even under the best of conditions.

I'm not at home right now, but this morning I saw my 2 broodies tight on their nests. One of them seemed to be peeking underneath her and making soft bukking noises. I'm hoping to see new fuzzy faces peeking out at the world tonight or tomorrow!

I went out and checked on my broody and she wasn't there! She was out behind the barn taking a dirt bath! I was worried for a minute! I took a peek at the eggs, none are moving yet, but I candled a few nights ago and all are live and well! I can't wait!!

the one pip is breaking through the shell now. I can see the beak poking through. I don't have any more pips though...kinda bummed about no more pips yet..i guess it takes time. today is my hatch day!!

So should I be looking for pips anytime now? Is the hatch date the day it starts pipping or the day it actually is supposed to come out?
