Hatching for Valentine's Day???

I work at home and check the bator windows......WAY OFTEN!!! I don't know what to do with myself either!

yeah, i have my own grooming business and I actually scheduled my appointments around this hatch!!! my hubby thinks I'm nuts...he loves me though, he bought me the bator!

I do home daycare so I have a good excuse I just say well the kids wanted to check on the eggs a lot!

LOL!! I told my DH I would send him a text if I got pips and he just smiled and said "ummmm ok honey" Yeah he thinks I'm crazy!

hah!! your DH sounds alot like mine....the kids must enjoy the eggcitement! just wait until they hatch! is this your first hatch?

we have had lots of chicks around here but this is my first time hatching on my own. SO EXCITED!!

I have a pip in a Silkie egg!!

The hole has gotten a little bigger in the last half hour. Hope it hatches ok, I can't seem to get the humidity up past 50%, grrr. I added a warm wet sponge already. Today is day 19.

congrats on the pip!!!!!! i added 3 warm sponges and 2 wet paper towels at the end of day 18...my humidity has been constant at 65%. if you can, add some warm water through the vent holes.

Well the congrats were short lived. The chickie, which looked like a white Silkie, got 3/4 of the way out and then died. None of my other eggs have pipped yet. Not sure if that one hatched too soon or if I'm just going to have a failed hatch

ohhh..so sorry to hear that. I'm new to this, and i couldn't tell you what happened....were you able to get your humididty up?

All right so I got home from school and my chick has not made any progress since I found it last night at seven pm. it is still alive and well but I have told it "I will give you 24 hours and after that I open it up and hatch you my self"
So if by 8 pm tonight yes I will give it one more hour If I have not seen any movement then I move in for the hatch.
