Hatching from Mareks positive flock

Has anyone had experience hatching eggs from a flock in which Mareks disease has been diagnosed? I had 2 Onagadori pullets die last December. I necropsied one myself and took the other to a veterinary diagnostic lab for confirmed diagnosis. No other deaths in my flock since. I did vaccinate everyone on the veterinarians advice because ‘what the heck, it can’t hurt’. Eggs are in the incubator and due to hatch tomorrow. One infertile egg was remove at 8 days and a couple failures at about 15 days. This is my first time incubating eggs also, so failures may be my fault. I wonder if the Mareks will affect the health of any of the embryos or hatched chicks.

I don't have experience with it but it truly can't hurt. Marek's is everywhere in the world. Meaning most flocks have been exposed at some point. The important thing when dealing with Mareks or other disease like it is to breed for resistance. Since you had it in your flock and the rest survived, IMO, you are better off hatching from your flock than bringing in new birds since your birds are already resistant - as should be their offspring.
