Bookerdog, nice pics, thanks for sharing.

Highlander, congratulations on your new gosling!

I have only done one hatch of sebbies and with mine I could not even begin to guess at their sex until they were dry. They all looked pretty much the same while they were wet.

Moved to the brooder for the night. I hope it will be warm enough, I haven't used the ecoglow before.

Any guesses on breed?

Hi Highlander

I think Nicky said it all - the cute kind

Dont think its African or Toulouse as the beak's pale coloured and the pattern appears to be Saddleback. At first I thought maybe some Embden blood there but I think the down maybe a little dark.

Has this experience made you want geese even more? Its a long incubation but last year our Rheas really jangled our nerves at 36 days! Think I'd hate to do Emus as you can't even candle their eggs and they take even longer

We should stick to Button Quail - 16 days and its all over

I think the rheas will be a nerve wracking experience, I have plans on letting my males do all the work I think!

Do I want more geese? Ask me again in 6 months time

You've got to try some Rhea eggs yourself as you'll get plenty of eggs. The youngsters are so funny when they hatch and I thought they looked like mini Velociraptors

Is that the base of an R-Com incubator I see in your pictures? If so how do you rate them?
