hatching geese eggs

critterranch Sorry to hear about your goose. I have a LGD and he seem to keep most predators at bay. I hope your eggs are fertile

mtacagni Welcome I hope you have a great hatch

countrychix Can't wait to see those 4 goslings running all over.

pete55 Looking forward to seeing your hatch.

Well I also just did a lockdown on 2 magpie and 8 Welsh Har ducks this morning. Been along time since I have had ducks. Looking forward to them. I also have 8 dutch hookbill ducks that sould hatch out in about 10 days. Going to feed store today to buy more brooder lamps to put in old fruit binns.

Dont worry as one egg has to be first and one egg has to be last

Our next 3 Dewlaps have all pipped now and in lockdown. This time they're all correctly positioned and the shadows in the air cells have moved from the back and to the front. Movement can be seen and the goslings are all making the rythmic clicking noise as they breath though 2 have also started peeping faintly.

The gosling has internally pipped and the shadows are moving in the air cell. The shadow of the beak is clearly visible.

Good luck

Pete

Bookerdog, have you gotten home from work? How many goslings do you have so far?

Pete55, great picture! Your last pic is clearer than anything I ever saw in my own eggs. Just waiting now to see those new babies.

They are still in the incubator, the cochin bantams haven't finished hatching yet

But I do have some pics of this year's "crop" of embden babies. These are the ones I'm keeping, except for maybe 1 cause I believe it is mixed with toulouse
