Is there a way to add or modify a GQF three tray incubator only to a Incubator/Hatcher without losing egg capacity? Is there room to add a hatching tray at the bottom and still have three trays for incubating?
Thanks.

My GQF has 3 turners & a hatching tray at the bottom... total - 4 trays.
I don't know about the 3 tray type, sorry.

Same here as the pagan: I mean about the incubator, not the pagan part. saladin

I have three 3 tray GQF incubators and don't think there's sufficient room for a hatching tray in any of them. The 3 tray models I have were originally set up for ostrich/emu eggs so the trays are spaced farther apart. Maybe there are different 3 tray models that will fit a 4th tray.

I know my friend who loaned me this 1202 hatched eggs on the bottom/floor of the incubator, but she's out of town right now so I can't ask her how those hatched. Seems to me the bator would be awfully crowded in the bottom if all three trays plus the bottom hatched...because I know my chicks jumped down to the bottom.

I also know they sell the separate hatching trays, so I guess you could replace the three trays with those so they don't jump out, leaving the guys on the floor with plenty of room. You'd like have to use cartons or egg racks though, so they keep air flow around them.

Thanks for the replies. I want a 3 tray plus hatch tray but found a used three tray with no hatcher and just wondered if it could be modified.
