Anyone hatch like this in homemade incubator saw a thread on here but pics been removed so can't see exactly how set up any advice or opinions appreciated

Just trying to work out how it's actually set out stood or lay down

I've never done it, but I have read/seen it done different ways...

In one method, you remove the eggs from an incubator that has turned the eggs with an auto turner on the day of lock-down. Then, you place the eggs in an egg carton with the bottom cut out (to allow air to circulate) and set the cartons back into the incubator until hatch.

The other method I've seen is where you keep the eggs in a carton stack and hand-turn them throughout the entire incubation. Here is a video that demonstrates how this can be done (near the end of the video)....

We hatch in egg trays with the eggs upright and have amazing results. Make sure there is enough ventilation for the eggs to hatch. Egg cartons work too but again, make sure there are holes cut on the bottoms. I find that the styrofoam egg cartons work better than paper since the paper suck in the moisture fast. Unplugging the egg turner and leaving the eggs in work too. I do this will all fowl except emu, turkey, peafowl, and waterfowl.

I have chinese painted quail eggs and just wondered how it works they are in a home made poly box incubator in the plastic egg boxes they where posted in stood up pointy end down its just I'm not sure if it will work so any other pointers appreciated
