, 5 still questionable and I think 5 quitters:( I pulled a stinky one out and 3 others that were clear. I'm still not sure of my candling abilities so I left the 5 ?'s and 5 quitters.

Well they should actually hatch on Monday but I've had my incubataor go up high a lot so I'm thinking they'll hatchway early
Can't wait, keep us posted.

Hi, been snooping for awhile. Noticed that tiny posted on another byc that his chick did hatch.

They may well do if you have had some high temps. Was it just spikes or over a longer period of time? Just spikes and they may well be on time. Prolonged could certainly make them early.

Thanks for posting this :thumbsup
Just been and had a look and the chick has hatched and is active. Makes me feel a whole lot better.

Congrats on your active eggs :clap
I like to leave questionable eggs in too. Just incase!! Read lots of things where people think they are clear or quit only to crack them open and find a viable embryo in there. Stinkers have to go though!!
Good luck, eagerly anticipating your next candling :pop

I agree. Yorkshire coop spent hours trying to explain and calm. But I learned a lot from it. So I will thank you all.

Thank you. OMG I had a night mare last night that I cracked one and it had a huge baby in it. That was my first stinker.

WOW, it had a little oozing. I used alcohol to clean up. Is that ok or what do you recommend?

Do you mean you cracked it while it was in the incubator? Or did it crack while in the incubator and oozed in there? As long as your cleaner is anti bacterial you should be good. You just have to make sure you get all the bad stuff out. Incubators can be breeding grounds for bugs :sick

O no, I couldn't really find where it was cracked but it had some oozing. Like it happened in the turner. I didn't find a mess or any junk in the bator.

Sad to report that I culled 5 eggs tonight. 3 were quitters. 10 went into lockdown but they don't look very promising. Something I noticed on two eggs is in the small end it looks like veins exploded or something

SOMEONE PLZ HELP!! I have 2 more eggs now, one is extremely happy and the babies are moving around in there im sure they are twins because the eggs kindof divided, the second one is happy to, but I'm worried of one Egg! There is an air bubble, but I don't see any veins! I just see air bubble then black!! What do I do?
