Hatching issues

X2 on the 80% humidity :ththat is the reason they pipped but could not zip. The humidity being that high acts as a lubricant, everytime the chick tries to turn it slides back to were it started...this is known as a 'stuck chick', completely different from being shrink wrapped due to low humidity.

One thermometer, i figured that's all you need if its calibrated.
With multiple calibrated thermometers it's easier to check multiple spots in the incubator...you will be able to tell were the hot and cool spots are alot easier. Multiple hygrometers that have been salt test calibrated are a good idea as well, most will read different from one to the other. Also, theres a huge difference in accuracy, even with the same brand hygrometers. Multiple calibrations should be performed ( at least 3) and the average of those readings used to determine the true humidity in the incubator.

I have the same incubator I think, and also have several pips with no zips after 24 hours. This is my first hatch, it’s a Janoel 12. Getting the humidity right was tricky for sure. I keep having to dribble more water in every 12 hours or so.

But you have some that are progressing?

Yes same incubator, first one came out way early at 4 am (16 hours ago) the fifth of 20 just hatched. Got two hatches in the last few hours so I'm hoping i wake up to a bunch of fluffy butts.

I also have the Janoel 12 and managed to hatch 6 out of 7 shipped eggs. I had two probe thermometers going through the vent at the top, with lockdown humidity starting at 64% which increased to around 70% by itself. 80% does sound very high. I found a wide shallow container that fits under the tray and kept the humidity stable for days. Good luck!
