Hatching madness! They weren't due yet!

We've got about 31 more Silkie (2 Frizzles), and about 20 or so Quail (coturnix x pharoah x a&m) that started hatching in the incubator today. They weren't due to go into the hatcher until next wednesday! They're all rocking and pipping.

One thing that concerns me, one of the Silkie eggs has a BUNCH of sporatic (sp?) pips all over the side of the eggs, does this mean trouble for the little one?

It's maddness today!! Found a Quail in the incubator, thought one of my Silkies was under developed! lol. My hatcher is FULL!

WOW THAT CRAZY! So day 18 for the chickens isn't until WED. so that would make this day 15? Your heat must be running way hot, but not hot enough to fry?

I'm dry incubating, my temps are between 99.8 and 101.5. lol. The eggs are marked 2/5.

Are sure they don't say 2/2 or are miss marked? Just throwing something out there.

Nope, I got them on the 4th and 5th.

Were they your own eggs, could a sneaky hen have started incubating them before you threw them in the bator? or were they kept in a hot area before you put them in?

lol, nope, I bought them off of 3 different people. I did have a temperature spike of 105 in the beginning.

Hmmm, I saw in your other thread about the "off" silkie that they are hatching fine, so I guess there is no need to worry. Enjoy your new babies!

I know, I'm utterly confused now. But I do know I marked those eggs on the day I put them in...so the date is correct. Totally strange.
