Hatching my first KONZA!!!

I prefer to set eggs such that I know who is who at hatch, lol. DIdn't lable the eggs myself so perhaps an egg got mis marked. If nothing else, over time the growth rate will be different . . I hope.

Gotta go look for more peeps!!

EIghth chick hatched out todayw ith a little help-- the zipping was running up and down not around, so I did the zipping for it and then left it to finish the job!!!

8 fluffies moved to new abode with 27% crumbles and water with vinegar in it. PRAYING they all survive. 7 Konza + 1 chocolate. LEts see, $120/7 = about $15 each.

One last candleing --- hoping to find an internal pip!!

Left all the remaining egg, 5 in. 3 look like early deaths as eggs not filled. ONE hopeful / maybe.

THe colors are baffling. Several are pale yellow and the others are very dark, though I hessitate to call them black. I may need to see them in the sunshine to determine the color of the fluff for sure. THe"chocolate" is one of the darks, but all look the same "dark"---

Lesson learned-- better NOT to set extra eggs-- I"m glad the rock and other chocolate did not hatch . . .

SUlmtaler eggs are in hatcher now-- little hope there. . . . one looks good.

I know the temptation of setting extra eggs. Didn't think I'd have a problem distinguishing the breeds, but I did for awhile. I bet they're all looking might cute though.

THe Sulms eggs are rediculously expensive to buy directly from a breeder-- so I look for the auctions. And the chicks are even more rediculously expensive. For now they will be crossed into my cornish cross project birds. ANd maybe the Konzas. THe one Sulm chick looks like it is a pullet. So praying if I get only one from this latest batch it is a BOY!! lol
