Hatching now (Please help) New Duckling!! Another one!

He is at school so no one will be with him tonight. I am going to go check on him in a little bit. I will take more pictures if they let me in. I put cotton balls and misted the eggs. Can I leave a wet rag on the shell? If he hatches overnight can he get caught up in it?

You can put wet rug on all tree eggs to be covered or put wet sponges if there is a room (or something to keep the rug little above them). Use warm water and make wet also the membrane of this duckling. When the duckling has hatched it will be resting. You have to watch close ( at least once to check during the night) what is going, but once you boost the humudity avoid to open the incubator as they need high humudity to hatch.

I went to school and he hadn't progress much. I called an avian vet and they said to peel the shell a little at a time. I did and when I went to reposition him he popped out. He kept trying to stand but the incubator is too small. I called the vet again and they said I could put him in the brooder bin. I have the temp at 90. Do you think he will be ok? He looks strong. How about the other egg that started zipping tonight? I put some moisture on it.

When he tryed to stand up in the incubator his back kept hitting the top. He was hunched over and couldn't stand.

He is so cute. Do they do ok if taken out of the incubator before dry?

He is so cute. Mine started to hatch in the afternoon and I spent the night in my classroom one night. (the other teachers thought I was pretty ridiculous) I had a couch in my room and took a blanket, didn't sleep much but kept an eye on them. I actually did that two years. I just can't sleep when they are hatching. I had a Little Giant Incubator then and they could burn their heads on the heating coil if you didn't get them out of the incubator pretty quickly. Good luck please keep posting more pictures.

Thanks for the responses. The ducklings are rouens. I'm in Florida and I got them off ebay from someone in Florida. I saw the postman drop the box bringing them up my driveway so I was afraid of what else happened to them in shipping. They were packed really good. I am the homeroom mom who brought the eggs in to the class. I stayed at school last night as long as they would let me but I had to leave about 7:00pm. I am going in this morning. I hope the other one hatches today.
