Hatching Problems

Booth holes should be covered till day 10 then booth holes are opened after that ......
You need at least some ventilation from the start of incubation and extra near the end when the chicks are getting ready to and hatching.

They are the size of the red plugs. I haven't enlarged them from when I orderd the incubator. I have a little giant incubator.

In the instructions of the G.Q.F. incubator I got back in 1997 stated that the two end holes were to have the plugs put over the holes but not snug and there are still little holes around the heater element to let air circulate then after the 10 th day to remove the two end caps so the air can move freely ....

These are a result of my Monday morning hatch ,,, I was cleaning
out the brooder yesterday so I took them outside for some sun ..

Now if I am doing something incorrectly I would like to be informed
as there is nothing better then getting a better hatch rate as I
only hatched out 16 of 23 egg's by day twenty ....

These are momma and papa

Hi, I have the foam incubator
But no fan. I turned them twice a day. Unplugged the red plastic stoppers from the beginning. Had a digital thermometer
And the one that came with the unit. Depended mostly on the digital. Humidity 45 to 55.

I know this all must be exasperating but, I am sure you will prevail. Please do post photos of your incubator so the hatching folks on here can give you their very best advice. You may have failed but, your students are surely learning that you do not give up.

Here are a few pictues of my set up. I do have new eggs and they are 3 days in. I got them from a neighbor that hatches his eggs all the time and has great success. I hope the same hold true for these eggs.
Thanks for all the great advice you have been giving me! I have learn much more and feel better prepared!
