Hatching QUESTION!!!! (A&M / Coturnix)

Quote:
What day are you on? I pack it up around day 22 for coturnix. (THE DAY YOU SET THEM IS DAY ZERO, 24 HOURS LATER IS DAY ONE).

Say what you want about the customer service, I'll agree. LC has poor customer service. Apparently answering 50 questions from people that don't know what they are doing, just isn't their bag.
They do have some fine genetic stock if they ever ship it to you.

There is something about the numbers that confuses me. 80 is an odd number, also the mix is wrong. Are you sure you got these from LC? It may just be me, but the numbers are not working out for me.

I ordered 75 eggs and they shipped a few extras. My order was for 50 jumbo browns and 25 Texas A&M's...... make sense? lol

Next Time Order From Quail Lady Or Jjmr794 I Have Coturnix Hatching Now Two Days Early And I Am Already At Over 70 Percent Hatch Rate, I Guess Thier Birds "eat Thier Wheaties" Also Get An Egg Turner Your Hatch Rate Will Be Much Higher.

yes we do, that is why i have been having so much trouble finding gamble quail because the random egg shippers in my opinion cant be trusted with out being verified on good ol' byc

I don't have Gamble but I first tried to hatch some Valley's from Lake Cumberland...that was a bust...I then ordered like crazy from ebay until I got the amount I have now

The Coturnix were another story. I really had no luck on ebay. I sell on ebay (I have an auction on it right now for 50 Assorted Coturnix) but I sell on it so people at least have a chance with hatching some eggs...I got eggs that came broken, eggs that blew up, rotten eggs...the whole shabang. It takes practice with eggs.

I have a hatch going right now - 100 Coturnix eggs split between 2 Brinsea Octagon 20 Eco incubators - one with an auto-turning cradle, and one without. Temp's exactly the same in each, and humidity's as close to identical as I can get them. So far (we're about halfway through the hatch) the hatch rate's pretty much the same in both of them. The ones I hand-turned started hatching at the exact same time as the ones that were auto-turned, but the chicks are taking longer from pip to zip to hatch.

quailladyoffortmyers - I was just looking at your autcion on ebay for the 50 egg Assortment! The eggs I have hatching right now are from ebay. Out of an original 100 eggs shipped, all arrived in perfect condition. I accidendally smashed one while loading them into the 'bators.

I tossed two during incubation - one went rotten, one dehydrated. 97 eggs went into lockdown - although I'm pretty sure 5 or 6 of them were clear - ALL the rest of them developed. So far, we have 29 babies hatched and in the brooder, 1 more that just came out of the shell in the incubator, and LOTS of pips and zips!

If they hatch, I think you will be very impressed with their jumbo white/A&M stock!
