Hatching Runner Ducks Live Updates!!

So guys it’s been about 24 hrs since one of them pipped internally but it hasn’t yet externally pipped. I can hear it peeping and tapping should I just leave it?

I've never hatched any yet this is my first hatch but from what I read it can take a little bit longer it sounds like it's trying to make it's entrance :) I would leave it if it was mine doing that

But I'm a newbie that's just from what I have read maybe someone else will have an answer

Does any one else have suggestions? I’m a little concerned.

Hello! This morning one of the babies has pipped externally and I don’t think the others will be far behind! Stay tuned for hatching pics soon.

How's it going? I'm excited for you! I can't wait til it's hatch day for me. My kids and I are doing it as a science project!

It’s going well!!! They’re peeping like mad and I’m hoping to have the early pip out by tomorrow if possible. Yeah that’s how it started for me. I’m currently studying zoology and I was going crazy during the lockdown so I decided to build and incubator and give it a go. Started with 12 eggs but lost five of them week one because of a temperature spike :(

Kids and I made a homemade incubator yesterday to have as a back up incubator and we are trying to get it to stay at temp and I still need to buy a hygrometer for it. About how much water do you have in yours to keep it at humidity do you know?

Sad about the loss but it's a learning curve for.us as well :)
