Happy Easter back at you. Good Luck with your new broody. I gave my girl Delaware eggs yesterday. She is sitting like a champ so far...Those eggs should hatch May 9. Good Luck with your silkie eggs! We will be hatching some of those here at some point too but for right now, I am looking forward to hatching the Delawares under Jamie Lee Curtis.

Then as long as I have proven broodies for them: next on the agenda is Pita Pinta eggs...a super rare Spanish mottled breed... There is a gal in the bay area who will sell me some of her eggs then Birchen Marans and Blue Isbar from another Nor Cal source and then maybe it will be time for cochin bantams or possibly true Ameraucana.

Yay!!!! the planning is fun but I could have spent all day watching my newest flock members yesterday. That's the real fun!

Wait till you see what Norma hatched... Every first timer from here on out will get Dorking and CA Grey eggs. They make Amazing little babies!

Hello everyone,

Teila,
I just want you to know that I have Lulu's sister! Here she is guys and her name is Taffy! I could not believe it!!!!!!!

That made me smile when I saw your new baby, I cant believe how much they look alike....
Hoppy Easter all.
Marie

Hi team! Just a few quick comments today, haven't had a chance to check in until now, but it's late and I'm half asleep. All is well over here, moms and babies really enjoyed the sunshiny Easter days after all the rain yesterday. Hope everyone had a great Easter!
Norma is 7 for 8 and the 8th is pipped and chirping! I thought I gave her mostly CA Grey eggs but I obviously gave her more Dorking egg than I thought. She has hatched 3. They are beautiful little sex links; red and yellow chipmunks with 5 toes. I think the red are the little girls. Got 4 black sex link babies too. two girls who are very gorgeous mottled black and red and the boys are black with a head spot. Not sure about the little guy in the shell though. The bantams also appear to be sex linked...4 are silver and 4 are gold all are totally adorable!!! I am going to ask on the sex link thread who would be what. Jamie Lee was apparently so devoted to Petunia and her eggs that when I put the little family in a dog crate for safety and bonding time, Jamie Lee left her nest to go hang out on the ground next to the crate. I caught her and locked her in the coop. After she had settled in on the nest again I gave her 8 Delaware eggs. :fl that her little foray was a sign that she wanted chicks and that she will stick to these eggs so she can get her own. It has been a few hours and she is still sitting tight. I really like that right now we are hatching our own eggs. I can not get over the cuteness. I will try to get pics soon but am having Easter lunch here tomorrow after Mass so probably it will be after that. They are seriously darling and robust little things. Happy Easter!!
Congratulations!!! :weee I can't wait to meet the new arrivals! Also, would love to know how the sex links work in this case - fascinated by chicken genetics!
Yay!!! :love so excited to see pics !!! Congrats on finding your Lulu Telia !!! Upon arriving to the barn this morning we have yet another Sara so that's 4 that have survived out 5 that hatched the remaining 2 eggs had been abandoned and not sure for how long so popped them under the other broodies will give them a couple of days and see what happens but not very hopeful!!
Yay!! :weee Here's hoping there are two more to come.

Teila she is absolutely the most adorable thing I have ever seen! :loveNow I want a frizzle... Lol, chicken math!

@Chickencrazy999 those babies are adorable! I think chipmunk pattern in chicks means either penciled or possibly barred, not 100% sure though! saw it somewhere on the forums.

@16 paws Marie, your Taffy is adorable too!! now I really really want a frizzle... Hmm I wonder if I should ask my neigh our for some eggs to hatch, he has a white grizzled roo... Maybe for the next one.
