Hatching with 2 broodies

Goood Monday morning Team

Gee, it is nice not to have a dose of Mondayitis for a change.

Thank you for your nice comments regarding Lulu; I think she is going to fit right in. Tee hee IC I think chicken-math has a sub-category of Frizzle-desire; see one, have to have one! lol.
That is why I got Lulu, I saw one on another thread and was smitten :)
She is so cute, when she walks all her frizzle feathers 'bounce'

16 paws, we obviously have good taste when it comes to Frizzles. Taffy is gorgeous; those are some serious curls

Lol LM, love the egg humour! :)

IC, good to read that all is going well .. I am also off outside to enjoy the sunshine and watch everyone scratch around the garden.

CC999, is it just me or does Team Broody have the knack of producing The Most Beautiful Bubbies Ever?!! OK, I could be guilty of a little bias :)
Congratulations and wooo hooo at more to come. Sorry, not going to take any guesses at colour, definitely not my forte

TG, I know I have mentioned it before but not sure if I have done so lately, I am in awe of you; you have a plan and somehow manage to remain calm with your multiple hatches.
Can't wait to see the pictures of Norma's bubbies :)
Pita Pinta? Google Images to the rescue lol. Nice!!!

Now that Lulu has moved in; that is it for me for quite a while I am thinking. Five gorgeous girls is enough for the coop and me to handle

Cilla is still chasing Tina away from Blondie but has eased off a little on Dusty and actually lets Dusty very close to Blondie. I can see Dusty and Cilla's friendship is blossoming again.

All I have to do now is sit back and wait for that rare commodity ... an egg :)

Here are the newest additions:

Beauty shot

Do you see all three?

The General keeping watch

There are 3 of the gold and 3 of the silver under her. So stinking sweet!!!

Can you stand it....That little one in the front is a girl. I have two that look like that.

Are they not darling?!

Oh my goodness that is cuteness overload right there!!! Love them all! :love Congratulations to you and the proud moms! How do you know that one is a girl? If there is an easy explanation, would love to hear it. Trying to learn a bit more about chicken genetics. Her colors are absolutely amazing by the way. :love

Biased? I don't know what you are talking about Teila, I am convinced that team broody does produce The Most Beautiful Bubbies Ever (TM). I think the latest post by @tommysgirl qualifies as scientific proof. ;)

Of course I also had to google Pita Pinta... Gorgeous, want!!! (Mmmm more chicken math...)

I am glad to hear Cilla and Dusty are becoming friends again. I am sure they will all work out their differences soon enough. And, hopefully, that will also involve eggs in the near future! :D

My co-parents seem to become more and more attached to each other, too... They used to sleep in separate corners initially, now this is how they get ready for bed:

Oh my! Cuteness overload!!

Did you gals not read the rules on the way in? No pretend bubbies! What? They are real? No! How can anything that cute be real? lolz

Beautiful bubbies, beautiful pictures, beautiful co-parents! Congratulations to the whole Team, we do have proof!!

Hi everyone! I am new on BYC but not new to chickens, however I have never had a broody. I have been laughing while reading this thread thinking how could anyone be afraid of a hen. Until thus morning when I had an angry RIR in the nest box! She was yelling at me from the moment I opened the door, I tried to move her to see if she has any eggs but I decided to leave her! Lol.

Thanks I was so excited by how they look! I did not think I would have this much variety. They are Sex Lnk babies. That one's mama has a cucoo pattern and her dad is a New Hampshire. The boy has the cream colored head is dark grey and will develop barring. The barred or cuckoo mama only passes the barring on to her boys. Girls will be back with red heads. The Dorking babies are sex links too and I am pretty sure the red ones are the gilrs and the the yellow one poking out un front in the one pic is a boy. If I am right I have 4 pullets. 3 cockerels

They can get nasty. I have a sweet EE that isn't broody but still gives a nasty peck when I disturb her on the nest.

heehee. Last night Tom asked me what I was doing and I told him that I had to post pics of the chicks because "their public" was demanding to see them.

I learned a lot from this hatch. Mostly that I should crate nesting areas for any eventuality. It is so great that I had a pen to move Norma and her eggs into. When all the littles are bigger I am going to Move Petunia and crew in there as well...about that time Jamie Lee should be hatching her own and heaven knows who else may have decided to be broody by then

Lol Teila, you are too funny! Was totally giggling at my phone and getting strange looks when I read that.

I will post more proof tomorrow probably. They keep growing so fast, must document!

Ha, that is something that can only be believed once experienced, I think! They are scary, aren't they?

And can hold a grudge - one of mine didn't lay for almost a year because I didn't let her sit I eggs (not on purpose I swear, didn't understand yet what broody signs were... It was Ombretta by the way)

Thanks! I must start taking notes on all of this, with pictures for reference! Would love to be able to sex at hatch, though I must admit I rather enjoy watching them and guessing too.

Just two more genetics questions and I will stop, I promise! Can the roo be any color in this particular combination with barred or cuckoo hen? And would love to hear how the Dorking sex link works too.

Lol, my husband is used to me snapping a picture a second as I go. He says I probably set up Facebook profiles for each chicken, dog, cat, etc. :D

I am sure the rest of the team will agree when I say that yes, we certainly do demand pictures of those beautiful babies! As many as they will let you take. :)
