So better give an update, there has been some other dramas...
The Darkhorse still has her 2 eggs, the second candling revealed large air sack development and larger more active chick embryo inside. That was last Saturday night (i know how to party lol). She is still only taking a short break every few days, but eating the food inside her box as well. She moved the nest area within the box after the dead eggs were removed and now has a better view out the door lol..
The dramas, Lola the one coming back from moult managed to jag her foot (right on top of the ankle in front) onto i assume a piece of random wire, it seemed to have gone deep and it bleed and oosed for days, we keep cleaning it and dressing it and now looks to have closed over and she is much happier. We fed her some extra beef pieces during this week. She has been looking quite pale at points. Quite worrying cause i do like that chook.... I think she is almost better, will remove the bandage tonight after bed and hopefully it won't get pecked and open up again.
Sunday / Monday for 2 new chicks hopefully, not counting...
Congratulations to everyone's family's, Teila, you have reminded me that my closed in chick free ranging area is far from complete, I must get that done on Saturday otherwise i think some local bird of prey might get a feed...
