Probably a wise decision. Your odds on each egg is 50-50 but that's only if you hatch enough for the odds to mean anything. If I add up all my chicks I hatch in a two year period (about 100 chicks) it's real close to 50-50. But if one of those hatches is say 20 chicks in an incubator I often get 12 to 15 of the same sex. Sometimes that's boys, sometimes girls.
You actually didn't do that bad, with six chicks you are only one chick away form 50-50. But there is no guarantee that your next hatch won't be 5 to 1 and it could be boys. I've had hatches like that too.
