Hatchling can't stand???

I get chicks I call floppers, they're just like that.

They just don't know how to stay on their bellies. I usually have to be hands on with them. Usually only takes 2-3 minutes to train.
I just set the chick on it's belly with legs tucked under properly, I kind of support with my hand on it's back so it can raise up without flopping backwards.
After a few tries it should be able to keep itself upright, & eventually walk.
Sometimes it takes 24rs for them to get walking.

I also use the cup trick, if it's not a jumpy one.

Last year a chick I hatched did this, she just layed there chirping quietly, I kept her under a heat lamp by herself and the next morning she held her head up and by after noon she was walking around. Give here a good day or so and to see if she perks up.

How is the chick doing?
Still can't walk, but doesn't look spay legged and doesn't feel like slipped tendons. I've tried hobbling it, slinging it, but nothing seems to be helping. I'm giving some nutridrench and holding it right now.

Did you assist in hatch?

No method of fixing leg issues is going to work in just a few hours.
All you can do is try and see if something helps over the course of 24hours or so.

Sometimes leg issues cannot be fixed and the chick fails to thrive. It's sad when that happens, but unfortunately that's part of it all.

No, it hatched on it's own. I put her back in the cup for now, but it's already trying to get out. I can't get a hobble right 😞 I'm going to see if I can get one of amazon.

Leave the bandaid on for more than 24 hours. It's not an instant fix but she needs to build the strength up in the legs. Like i said, mine took about 36 hours for it to fix.

View attachment 2986427this is how it keeps laying. Like it can't coordinate to stand or can't bare weight on the one leg. I want to help it if I can. Should I take it out of the incubator and try giving it some vitamins?
2 of my chicks came out acting lethargic. they eventually came around. It took hours but they gained their strength. i would leave it in the incubator. I did.

Do you have any vet wrap? It works pretty well as a hobble. I would also start giving B-Complex. Dissolve 1/4 tablet in a small amount of water and give her a few drops several times a day.

I don't. I have the human version and it just isn't sticking. I currently have a bandaid with some medical tape in the middle. I will start giving her some b complex in the morning. I gave her a little nutridrench with some warm water tonight and have her in the cup in the incubator with the temp turned down to 96.
