Hatchling can't stand???

2 of my chicks came out acting lethargic. they eventually came around. It took hours but they gained their strength. i would leave it in the incubator. I did.
Oddly enough, she isn't lethargic at all. Just can't walk. She can jump all over and kicked multiple hobble materials off.

You can give her direct drops of the PND, but with water is fine too.
Only reason I suggest B-Complex is you want B2(Riboflavin) which is not in PND unfortunately, but it's great stuff to give a just hatched chick.

I have straight b2 for humans but it's high dose tablets (400mg). Maybe I can crush a tiny bit and give it to her.
Thank you for all your help. I figure if she doesn't make it, at least I tried.

I think that would work.
B vitamins are water soluble so any excess is excreted in the urine, so I think you would be fine to crush up a little, dilute it and give her a few drops. You can still give her 1-2 drops of the PND as well, it has other essential vitamins/minerals in it.

With tiny ones like this all you can do is try. It can be extremely frustrating trying to fix legs. Sometimes it all works out. I hope it does, s/he is a cutie pie.

It's not doing any better. Had an experienced person hobble it's legs and it still couldn't stand. The other chicks want nothing to do with it and it is constantly crying 😞
I'm unfortunately going to have to cull 😭
I'm sorry about the chick.

You did everything you could. I've been there, it's no fun.
How many healthy thriving chicks did you end up with?

Unfortunately, things did not improve. We hobbled legs, gave vitamins, feed, water but nothing got better. If anything, his/her movements became more irregular. The chick "Broken" spent hours today crying not matter what I did to make it comfortable. I made the hard decision to cull.

The other 5 are all doing well so far. So 6 of 6 hatched and only one needed culling thus far.

That is too bad. I had one chick that could not walk, I called him Quazzy. The group he was hatched with were more advanced so I moved him to a pen by himself. When he was not trying to keep up with his friends he got to rest. Then another group hatched. When they were little (first couple of days they had to scoot on their tummies until they got their sea legs.) Well Quazzy got better on his own when not pressured to keep up with the older chicks. Here is a pic of him, after healing himself.

How were you able to keep him fed? I had named him/her "Broken" after it hatched. Broken couldn't even seem to pick crumbles up and eat them. She was so strong otherwise, but I played back videos and her ability to stabilize herself was only getting worse since hatch 😞
