We had some chicks hatch yesterday and one baby never fully detached from her egg. I'm pretty sure it was her umbilical cord (long thing going from her butt area to the egg). I left her alone for her to try and let nature do its thing, but in the meantime, all the other chicks were bumping into her, pecking at her, falling on her, and she just couldn't seem to catch a break. I moved all the others to their brood box last night and left her and another one that had just hatched in the incubator. I really thought she'd be dead this morning, but she isn't. She is fighting with everything in her to stay alive, but not moving much. After doing some research, I cut the chord with a pair of sterilized scissors and put her back in the incubator. She's chirping occasionally and trying so hard to move around, but she is exhausted. I fear she is not going to make it much longer. Is there anything at all I can do for her? Should I leave her in the incubator or put her in the brood box separated from the other chicks? I tried offering her water, but she's too weak to drink. Please help.
