Hatchling with Hip/Leg Problem

This little one was hatched over night last night without issue. Today I noticed in the brooder that he was walking funny. He gets around just fine, but his gait just isn't normal. I've had splayed leg chicks before, but this is different. As you can see from the photos his right leg/foot is turned in. Almost like hip dysplasia?? Does this happen in chicks? Any ideas? I'm inclined to leave it to see if it straightens itself out, but I'd like other people's opinions because this is a new one for me!

Interesting articles! Vitamin D deficiency (in the layer)is mentioned as a cause of bone deformities. This may be the problem as these eggs were laid in the dead of winter. I know people in Canada tend to have Vit D deficiencies in winter, maybe it's the same for chickens.

Did the chick learn to walk?
