Eggs under my broody will soon be hatching. I've got her in a revamped doghouse, but the only way in and out is a ramp. How long will it be before the little ones can go up and down a ramp?

Here's a pic which shows the angle. I was thinking that I could extend the ramp and make the angle a little less (though they could fall off the sides).
At first, I'll put a piece of wood at the entrance so the little ones can't get out and mom can. I don't think that'll last too long as they grow fast.

Need suggestions on how to keep chicks safe. Thanks

I would put money on it that they can do it within the first week.
Mine could get up on the roosting post - albeit it was a 2x2 and was low but they could get on it within a week.

My baby and toddler pens have a higher ramp than that..don't worry it will become a run way real soon with take off near the top

We turn ours out when they are a week old with no problems.
