Hate it when no one comes to the party...

Go! Leave a note saying "Brewery Move". Have fun for me too! Hubby is on the couch snoring ZZZZZZZZZZZ.

Will you be popping balloons @ midnight to get him in to the spirit?
The note's a possibility. My friend just put on a video of the Grateful Dead's 1978 New year's show....
but I've seen it before - may need to move on...

Ok and after I pop the balloons I'll tell him it was your idea.

No problem...They used to call me "B.I. Britt" (Bad Influence)
In any event, we went to the brewery, said "Hi" to the meager crowd (most people went to a nearby town for the live music), and came back to the house (and the computer!) to hang out with the awesome neighbors while listening to the G.D. new years concert.
HAPPY NEW YEARS!

I hate that too. It has happened a few times with my kids' birthday parties. It crushed them so I just quit trying to invite folks.

I'm sorry. If it is any consolation I would be all over a crabfest!

Well, I got ya all beat.

The first year we lived here in this house, we decided to have a barn party. Had a couple of friends that played weekends for different functions. They were pretty good, ALWAYS booked for New Years so had to reserv them in advance. They had some new equipment and songs they had been working on.

Had a bar b q, with bonfire, dance floor with live band (2 man see above), it was cool, no bugs (sw fla) and invited over 100 people, expected about 40 to really show. 10 people showed! DH and I, my Mom and her man, the two man band, and the neighbors across the street!

I told DH, NEVER again. No one called to say they couldn't make it, nothing. This was after them all saying, yea we'll be there. We even had room for those who wanted to camp the night so they wouldn't have to drive home.

This is why I stopped having dinner partys this happened to me to many times. Their excuse???? You are a chef, what difference does it make? Yes I am a chef at WORK at home I am cooking for my guests. Not showing up and no call no show is still rude!!.
I would have came to your party!!! I love seafood!!
