we have has several live traps and if they have a solid sheet of sheet metal on the front they are the best. as coon will chew on the mesh.
To all those that relocate the coons. Two thoughts, How would you like it if people relocated coons near your house? you would not like it guaranteed. A coons radius is huge. If it is not more than three miles there is a good chance he is right back in your coop.
Second, why do you think the exterminators always advertise as humane relocation? So the coon or skunk will find some other poor sucker to live and they will call the exterminator to relocate him again. A great money making business model if you ask me.
If you catch a coon, skunk, squirrel,opossum or coyote. Do EVERYONE a favor and kill it. If you cant shoot where you live, fill up a garbage can with water and drop the trap in and come back in an hour. None of these are endangered species. Don't feel bad, be glad you could help the rest of us out by not dropping it off near our houses.
