I have a chicken with a purple comb, I'll try worming her, poor thing. She's all bloated and has vent gleet - so must be parasites, right?

I'm so sorry, it is possible that the cause is a parasite, and many birds die from parasites causing the same affects, have you been letting your chickens free range lately? because it could be from eating too much clover. when a clover accumulates a fungi, it reacts by making a substance in the clover called coumarin to become active making this poisonous to chickens eating the clover if they eat too much. It acts as a blood thinner and creates internal bleeding, and bloating, this is why the comb goes purple.
So sorry about the chicken.
