My chicks are only about a week old and they are inside now with the light. Can I put them outside in their house and if so when? I would still use the heater until they are ready to be without it but do I do anything special in the hen house? It's large given they are little and I don't want them to not get the warmth. Also, what do you put in the hen house? Hay/straw? Anything? Thanks!

I would give them plenty of time to feather out completely before moving , heat is something you can terminate to soon but You "cannot" leave them in it to long as they will stay away from it when the time comes .

Put white shavings on the floor of the coop for litter. No Cedar.

You can move the whole brooder into the coop if you wanted to.
