My mother in law and I have both gotten calls from someone claiming to be from Microsoft.

I hung up within the first few words of the conversation, she fell for it and I think had an expert look through her notebook for malware. However, her facebook was hacked, as well as having issues with email.

I've been seeing a TON of email hacking lately.

Bear with me, I'm trying to remember XP, Go to the top of your screen and find Tools. Click on tools, and in the drop down box is Internet Options. In Internet Options is a box that says "Delete Cookies", and delete them. It also says in that box somewhere (without opening any of the tabs on the top of the box) the option to delete temporary files, and do it. These will ask you if you are sure, and you click on yes. BUT if you just changed your passwords, then you need to write them down, because this is will have you signing into everything again, and you will have to enter your password. Good luck!!

That's why people get new computers. The old ones get full of stuff.

There is a new cookie that is a "survey"cookie that can't be deleted that way. Hackers are EVERYWHERE!

Um first thing? Have you unhooked the PC from the internet cord? If not do that now then get on another PC an change the passwords to everything an check for resent activity. Then have someone in the know to format an reinstall windows on your PC. Data will be lost.

Thanks reb! That is what we will do. I have a few more minutes on the malicious soft ware scan and then we will exchange computers for one that is not used on the internet.

What software are you using to scan with?

There's even a scam now, where they have you download a software to scan for malicious software and the download is a malicious software.

So many scummy people in the world...
