Have i got a broody silkie?

Guys what should i do she has laid 5 eggs and is now in the nest sitting on the eggs. Its an old oil drum cut open that she has laid in is this enough room for her? She was lifting straw with her beak all morning and now has went in and sat on her 5 eggs i really want baby silkies😭

I did put my hand near her she wasnt happy she made a screech and didnt want to risk a nip lol 😂 shes being very vocal i hope shes broody i was just about to buy an incubator looks like i wont need one and let mother nature do the work🥰

Yep, The screech indicates a Broody. I hope you have beautiful baby silkies!
 
What a beautiful silkie! She definitely sounds like she's broody. I'd personally leave her where she's at. I've found most of my broody hens prefer a smaller space to sit. As long as it's not extremely hot and is in a safe location I'll leave them where they choose to nest! And just so you know not all broody hens screech or peck. Most will but not all! I've currently got a broody silkie sitting on eggs due to hatch next week she hasn't once screeched or pecked at me. Knowing your hens normal behavior helps you know when they are broody or if something else is wrong.

I'm assuming you have a rooster and your eggs are fertilized? If so it sounds like your on the broody Express to adorable little peepers soon :love
