Have I got a cock or two??

Phew!! All sorted 10 mins away from collecting 2 new brown hens and parting ways with our cockerls. I'll get some pics up when I get them home. May be in the morning.

panic over lol.

I'll keep an eye out for anything but i don't have any spare space to. I've just built them some roosting boxes. And was going to treat the coop for mites. (Preventive obviously haven't got a problem just like to do it regularly

) but other than that I think I'll be fine. Just hope the new hens get on with the original resident.

An integration plan might help. Usually a fence or something where they can see each and work out the pecking order a little before actual contact. Usually 2 weeks. Hard to say if she might bully them, vice versa, or neither.
Some people suggest putting them on the roost after dark so they all wake up together in the morning. And that's what I usually do after a period of look but don't touch followed by free ranging together for several days and then to the roost and same coop for a wake up.

I realize your set up is different, but you can at least have the information to try to improvise as you need to.

Never treated for mites, never had to. But I avoid chemicals unless needed as I feel like resistance is a problem. Dirt baths seem to work well. Also, I refuse to treat for what I don't have. Waste of time, $, and environmental resources. But that's just me. My vet SWEARS I MUST treat my dogs for ticks and fleas because of where I live. Haven't done it or had ANY in the two years I've lived here. I keep my eyes open ALL the time though.

Best wishes for an awesome integration!
