My mother wore trifocals for years. You get correction for an in between distance, between near and far, as well as the other two. She was forever moving her head up or down a tiny bit to get something in the right lens.

Worst part is training yourself to LOOK where you are walking! I've had some spectacular falls in the viny jungle we have here.

I know it is hard for those who have never worn them, but just suck it up and go get your eyes checked. You will be amazed at what you are missing.
