13th December 2018, i put 14 eggs of rare breeds in the BRiNsea MAXi-2 EX.
I was traveling & i asked a friend who Stopped egg turning on the 1st of January.
she showed me the incubator and to my surprise, the humidity was JUST 32%.
I knew all the chicks would be dead... but still i was hoping against hope.. Yesterday i.e 6th January, when i returned home, there were still no chicks despite the fact that i asked her to take the humidity up, the reading showed 32%

the tubing that was going through the humidity pump has got detached/torn and this was the reason for the humidity issue :he

i cant believe how this happened?
makes me sick knowing that i lost all my chicks...

did candling, no signs of life. all dead..
this is a big loss for me.

Sorry for your losses! I love hatching chicks its so much fun. I use an extra hygrometer in my incubator. Leave a few spots empty and lay it right on the turner where it is visible. I'm not sure if there is room for that in a brinsea. I use a hovabator genesis.

Yesterday i.e 6th January,

Sorry for your frustration and experience. :hmm

Did you get any pips at all? Were the eggs shipped or from your own flock?

I suggest not setting eggs in the future if you know you will be out of town... especially for 3 days past intended hatch date. You may have no way of knowing that the power went out for an extended period of time or like this accident.. that something got bumped and unplugged or such.

Honestly... a low humidity at lock down should not kill all your embryos and if there were NO pips... more likely suspect temperature as being an issue... Did you use extra thermometer or hygrometer or rely on what is built in? Also if their are any vent holes they need to be unplugged as oxygen is key.

When you candled... what did you see?

Hang in there and try again if you can! :fl

no there were no pips, i was away all this time... the humidity throughout the incubation was 32% from the 5th day onwards... cause that was the time when i left and came back on the 6th of January....
