I had to have surgery on Friday to put a screw in the bone that I broke in my foot in October. I have not been able to get outside so my kids have caring for my chickens, geese and 2 khaki campbell ducks. (Well discovered that I had lucked out and got 1 boy and 1 girl) I was so excited, now I am so sad. I can see out where they free range from my sunroom and noticed yesterday that I only saw 1 of the ducks. I have also been sick from all the medications so been vomiting so definitely not able to go out there. Well today I feel better and decided that when my son got home from school and he could drive me out there. Sure enough my boy is gone and my girl is just hanging with my geese. My husband and kids knew that he was missing. Ut where I was sick they didn't want to make me more upset.

Hubby said he saw a FOX outside in his grandmothers old yard. He was going to go shot it but couldn't find it. And yes I don't agree with killing an animal. I don't eat meat so this is sad that I agree with getting rid of it.

Should I try to find a male for her so she wont be alone.

Oh, I'm so sorry!

I'd probably get her another boy, but that's just me. Extra boys are never hard to find.

And I hope you're feeling better!

That's kinda what I thought. I live in a pretty small area and actually it may be hard to find one.

Thank you. I am starting to feel more like myself. Slow road to travel though

So sorry to read of you loosing your drake. Things always seem to get much worse when you are sick or injured yourself and you cant be there to do they things you normally do.
I hope you are feeling better soon and can find a mate for your girl. Even an extra female would be some company for her if you cant find a drake right now.

Very sorry to here about your drake

Sometimes its just not fair. I agree, though it'll be good to get another friend for your girl. Doesn't really matter if its male of female.
I hope you get better soon and get another nice duck
