This is the most endearing quality a rooster can have. It's a joy to watch.
All my roos have done the domestic ritual of encouraging a hen to pick a nest and lay an egg. But my very first rooster Stan, a SLW, would take it to the next level. He would hop in the nest with the hen, go on and on, chattering away, fluffing up the nest material, flinging wood shavings all over them both and all over the place, until the hen, tired of all the domesticity, would leave him to his activities, and move to another nest for peace and quiet.
