Have you ever cried over one of your chickens? I did today!

im so sorry that that happened to you my chickens are like my kids because i dont have any human kids and im not able to so if sometime where to happen to one of my girls i would be heart broken again im deeply sorry

Yup.....cried all day when I lost my Roo.....still get upset thinking about the big guy,he was a great boy!!

Ah shucks... it just hurts. It's OK to cry. Dotty was family.

I am so sorry for your loss of Dotty...yes, each and every critter we have is a family member, and cared for and loved. When one dies, it is a true loss for us.
Each and every one is special.

I've done wild bird rehab, and most of what we got in did not make it, and I cried over every one that died. I have told DH, that if a critter in our care dies, and I don't cry, then it's over for me.

never be ashamed to show your feelings toward an animal,,yes it was a chicken,it was your pet,you loved it,and it loved you,I much rather have my chickens for company than some people I have to come in contact with everyday,,(know what I mean?)

I'm sorry that you lost your Dotty. I know that it is hard. We lost 5 hens and a roo to stray dogs a few years ago, and it broke my heart. It's never easy. My thoughts are with you...

I'm so sorry. Yes, I've cried plenty of times. People say that these things fade in time but I don't know. My heart still aches for losses that happened so long ago.

Thank you everyone. It is comforting to know you guys understand the love a person can have for a chicken(s). They are special pets and have such interesting personalities. I will miss seeing her tomorrow morning eagerly waiting for breakfast and fresh broccoli.
