I have a barred rock roo huge and gorgeous but he doesn't like the kids if I am not out there he goes in attack mode on them. I am debating about rehoming him...I really need him but he is going to have to learn the rules !!!!

I've only raised 2 sets of chicks. In my limited experience I've so far had 2 biting/mean roos. The current one is destined for dinner as soon as he's big enough --- and I tell him that everytime he gets testy with me. "I only have to put up with you until you're big enough to be worth all the feed you've eaten"

I still have 2 Buff Orp roos that have yet to show any personality, so my numbers could change, but the poll didn't ask for numbers.
The short answer is
Yes I've had a mean roo.

yes, but they don't last long at my house. IMO, there is no excuse for it. LOL. I do have 4 perfectly wonderful, non agressive roo's here though.......

Almost all of my roos have started out nice and then have become mean

(most of them were RIR's). One cornered my son and attacked him. My son ended up with a scratch that started below his ear, went across his neck, and down his chest. That rooster was dispatched quickly. Another one the kids named Flogger and we tried many, many things to calm him. But Flogger kept flogging. When an owl decided to have him for dinner my children weren't upset they said, " Good ,he won't flog anybody now." we're still hoping for a nice roo.

I have had several meanner than mean roos. The worst ones were a black australope the other a giant white orpington roo. I hated to get rid of the orp but after he broke my finger when I bent over to pick up their waterer I had had it so we sold him. I have two of his offspring and so far they are as sweet as their mommas.
