Have you found a creative and functional way to keep chickens out of the Garden?

This year we went to two raised beds for our garden endeavor this summer. We were hoping it would be easier to keep the chickens out of them. They did great about not jumping up into the beds when the plants were small, but now that the beans and peas have gotten bigger, they mow them right down. What has worked for you? Suggestions very welcome!

Fencing either the garden or the chickens in. It is really the only thing that will work in my experience.
