Have you had coon get through hardware cloth?

Wondering what actual experiences were.

1. What's the most secure way to attach hardware cloth? A screw every x inches, 1x2 strip of wood...

2. How secure is a large hardware-cloth covered "window" in coop, opening about 3 ft high?

I've never had anything get through hardware cloth.

I like a screw through what I call a fender washer -- about quarter sized, with a small hole.

screws with fender washers work great for me on hardware cloth I space mine about every 6 inches with 1 1/2 inch screws

I don't like gaps from stretched wire so I go with fencing staples about ever 1-2 inches
