Thanks everyone...I am feeling much better after reading everyones comments! We will be scrambling some eggs tonight....these will be our first "fresh" eggs!

Every egg, whether found on the coop's floor or somewhere else (including at the megamart) came from a hen's cloaca. It's really not going to be any more exposed to chicken fecal bacteria on the coop floor than it was in the cloaca in the first place.

For bonus points, who remembers what "cloaca" means in the first place? That's right: "sewer."

Mind you, this doesn't bother me and I don't think it should bother you. The main point is that you're really better off not worrying too much about this stuff in the first place.
