Chirping
We had to let my girl Beth go on Ssturday. She had been unwell for 2 weeks and didnt respond to any vet treatment, spent 2 nights there and deteriorated quite quickly; she couldn't stand up or balance and kept falling over and lying on her side. We made the decision to put her to sleep on Saturday afternoon.
She was always slightly off from the other 2 chickens and vet visits found nothing. My partner says her life was probably always going to be short.
She was the cuddliest of my 3, always separating from the other 2 chickens to come over and honk at me or peck my socks. She didnt object to being picked up and stroked and would fall asleep in my arms, or on my chest when she was a baby. She was the most enthusiastic scuffler of the 3 and loved to get in the sandbox asap and roll around. She was the sweetest little chicken.
Having a rough time with this one so I thought I would share.
This photo is one of the last cuddles we had with her.
