Having Forum Issues

It might depend on your internet provided. If their servers are marginal, when everybody gets online after work and supper, the whole works slows down.

TillinWithMyPeeps, you had mentioned all other sites were fine, right (other than sister sites)? In general that would point to an issue just with BYC for sure, but then the fact that we haven't had oodles of complaints is odd too.

The internets is an odd thing... and sometimes different routing pipes get all screwy. Everybody, keep us posted on if you have problems.

If you do notice a slowdown on BYC here's what you should do (IN THIS ORDER):

1) Visit other sites (like www.Yahoo.com www.Cnn.com etc.) to see if they are slow. If they are NOT then,
2) Visit the other BYC sister sites: www.TheEasyGarden.com www.SufficientSelf.com www.BackYardHerds.com and see if they are slow. If they ARE slow, then
3) Look at the bottom right of the forum index page. You'll see: "Generated in xxx seconds, y queries executed" If xxx seconds IS greater than 1 or 2 then we have a problem on our end for sure! Click the report button on any post (best case this one) and say, "FORUM IS SLOW!!!")
4) If the seconds is less than 1, then post in the forum asking if anybody else is having a problem.

To the op:
Has to be your provider. You may want to call them and ask is they have usage issues that are squeezing your bandwidth. We have this issue with att during the day randomly.
If your browser cache is clear, your virus protection is up to date, then it has to be with your provider relevant to your purchased bandwidth.
