Hawk and Falcon trouble

Outside pen with 1/4” wired and seems to be secure. But, had a big hawk and now a falcon showing up around 7:20am and today trailcam caught it here at 11:30am. Quail going crazy when it tries to get in by flying on side of coop but it does eventually leave.
Has anyone had any success with deterrents like an Owl statue or something?
I know that’s what hawks and falcons do, plus don’t want to hurt them just want to leave them alone.
My picture shows how construction of pen/coop is.

Nice coop. As long as your birds stay in there they should be OK. The only thing to do about the birds of pray is to get used to them or kill them. However, in my experience, after a while they will figure out that there's no meal here and move on.

It didn't look like you had any screening over the window above your nesting boxes? They might still be able to get through it to get your chickens.
It is actual glass there so even more secure than wire. All latches are locking latches, so think is well fortified. Thanks for the thought.

Hope they do eventually leave cause killing them is not an option. Birds of prey are protected in Texas and guess elsewhere.
Is there someone out there can build me a “Jack in the Box” to scare the crap out of them. Just joking!
Guess will have to wait it out and see if they move on. Thanks for info.

Get some old CDs or similar shiny things, put them on strings, and tie them over the coop where the flashing reflections don't get down to your birds. Should deter the hawks.

Don't kill them, birds of prey are an important part of the ecosystem and help keep you from being overrun by rodents. You've put a box full of prey items in their habitat, of course they're interested. The best thing you can do is shoo them away.

Yes, will not harm them under any circumstance. Will try this for sure. Thanks for the insight.

Awesome quail house! Looks very secure. I can't tell if your birds have much cover from the pictures. Mine love to hide in and under stuff. Mine also don't seem particularly bright, which makes me wonder if your quail would even notice the hawk if they were hanging out under cover (I use thick pine branches, cardboard boxes with holes cut in the sides, hollow logs etc).

my dog chases the hawks .. the resident red tail hawks stay away. a juvenile coopers passed through and attacked when the dog was in the house
Tried dogs when usually showing up at 7:15-7:30am, no falcon. Then trailcam shows it at 11:30am when I’m at work and dogs up. Summertime dogs can stay outside.
Thanks!
