My poor hen was attacked by a hawk about 5 days ago. She was attacked on her Comb and around the eyes . It’s hard to tell what really all happened . Both of her eyes are still swelled shut . We have been giving her saline and squirting some electrolytes down her throat and I’ve mixed up some feed in apples sauce watered down mix and forcing her to eat it by using a sandwich bag with a cut corner like you do with frosting . Her eyes have a lot of goop coming out of it and have been trying to gently remove it. We do see both eyes when we can while cleaning them . We tried some vetericyn today , I read that is good to use? How do I know if she is getting enough food and water. What are the recommended amounts . I did see her standing up today and cleaning herself . Hoping that was a good sign. I did leave some water and scrambled eggs in her cage hoping she finds it and has interest eating it . Any tips would be great . I hope she will be ok.

I’ll have to pick some up thanks . And yes my husbands doing the eye thing , I can’t , just not there yet !
Also any idea how much food and water . We give her droppers full of water and try to feed her some watered down food until she seems like she is just done . It’s not much at all. But you can tell she doesn’t want it .

Try making her some scrambled eggs - no seasoning, maybe a little coconut oil for cooking... plain Greek yogurt is good too.

I tried the eggs twice and she is not interested . I do have the other stuff so that’s good. How much should I give her since we have to force her .
