Yesterday I let my girls out to free range they have been cooped up for days due to rain, Even though it was still raining 3 of the girls love the rain and will just sit in lol, So anyways I heard one of the girls cry out like it was dying Soni ran to the sound of her voice and sure enough a hawk had her down it seen me and flew away but the hen just laid there like she was dead.I went over to pick her up to take her back to the barn and when I did she cried bloody murder,I thought oh my goodness you have some kind of internal injuries or something, After getting her back to the barn there were no cuts or anything except on the side of her ear it was alil bloody..I put her in a cage and put the heat light on her just in case she was in shock,so this morning I went to look at her and she acts like she can't see , She's keeping her eyes closed alot but she stand but walks only alil..Is it possible she's blind? I checked both eyes and they look fine except for alil watery..Idk what to do ..Help!!

Treat for shock. Giving her heat treated part of the shock, but you need to also elevate her glucose and electrolytes. Her symptoms are very typical of shock after a predator attack where little to no injury occurred.

The easiest method of treating is to warm some Gatoraid and give it to her. Chickens love the red variety. Most drink it willingly.

If you have no Gatoraid, warm some water and dissolve a bit of sugar in it along with a tiny pinch of salt. You should see a dramatic recovery.

By the way, a loud, struggling chicken usually indicates few if any issues. A mute and uncomplaining one that puts up no struggle usually has serious health issues.
