Just two days ago, my little black silkie who was about 4 years old got killed by a hawk

Her head was ripped off, and when I came to the rescue all was too late

She was dead! Body was still warm

And also One of my favorite silver laced wyandottes got killed by a mountain lion (infection) How to prevent them?

Hawks not much you can do but put netting over their pen. I covered mine in a cheaper deer netting and so far it's held up pretty well, but I do let them out to free range and that proved fatal today.

As far as mountain lions short of livestock guardian dogs not much will scare a mountain lion off. You can always contact your local department of fish and game and ask if they have any recommendations or if your allowed to trap/kill.

Good luck.
