Hay/Pine Shavings, neither works for me...Am I S.O.L.?

I'm very happy with using about 4" of sand in the run and and inch or 2 in the coop. Very easy to keep clean, and less expensive than constantly having to replace other material. No decomposing, damp, bio material either.

Thanks so much to everyone!
I knew BYC would have some answers.
I got the Equine shavings at the feed store & am trying those.
I have my eyes peeled for second & thirds cuttings of hay, and for straw, locally.
When I run out shavings, I will try the pellets.
I'll let you know what I find, and I thank you all again.
It is great to hear options from people with lots of experience.

I added a two inch layer of sand in the duck coop with a thin layer of the equine shavings on top, and feel better about the set up already.
