He crowed!!!

From what I understand Silkies are unpredictable when it comes to crowing. Some do it early, some up to a year old!! That's why its so hard to sex them. well ours was definitely a roo at 8 weeks. he had a huge comb and wattles. It wouldn't be such a drag if he were mean but he isn't. and I only have one other silkie and they are buddies...

My Golden Campines began to crow at 4- 41/2 weeks old. Made a EEE EEE EEK sound (one threw in a bit of an R sound here and there). They're now 51/2 weeks old. My Blue Andalusians are the same age but haven't started yet.

I had a speckled sussex roo crow at 7 weeks! Funniest sound I ever heard. I woke up wondering *what the heck is that?*

The first crows are hilarious! When I was at a friend's house a couple years ago, my parents were puttering around outside, and our little roo crowed for the first time ever. My mom had to make sure my dad wasn't strangling him! I think the first crows sound so funny; sort of like a strangled aAAAAAH! Rather than the cock-a-DOODLEYDOOO of a mature rooster!
